Masham Railway Station

Description and History of Site:-
Brick station buildings and goods shed.

Melmerby to Masham Railway Act 13th July 1871 Terminus of the Masham branch of the N.E.R. Opened June 1875, closed to passengers 1931, closed altogether 1963. After closure it was used as a grain storage site until around 1973. Became a caravan site in 2005. In 2008 the goods shed was restored and opened as a picture gallery and cafe.
