Description and History of Site:-
Fine brick four storey mill. Formerly had two wheels and seven pairs of stones. - Now refurbished to residential housing

Falconer - This large corn mill astride the River Derwent originally contained 2 waterwheels and 5 pairs of stones. The 5-storey building was converted into a public house and restaurant in 1967 having ceased working in 1964.

More recently refurbished as 12 apartments. It is said (unconfirmed) that one of the water- wheels which is undershot and made of iron by Hawkswell of Yarm in 1921 with a diameter of 16ft and a width of 7ft, and two of the 3 pairs of stones are preserved in situ.
