Description and History of Site:-
Huge mill, built in 1878 by Mathias Nornabell, alongside the railway. Plain brick rather austere. Bought by Thirsk's in 1904. No physical separation of foodstuffs and flour production but they are run (in 1973) as two units, with a new compound mill being installed in 1960.
