Description and History of Site:-
Hatcher - 4 storey block with large flat-arched windows some now blocked. Short stubby clock tower. Painted white to imply the concrete structure as opposed to the red brick all around.

Falconer described the site as - "In 1900 the long established engineering firm of Rose Downs & Thompson & Co Ltd constructed for their own use at their Caroline and Cannon Street premises a ferro-concrete building which was the first of its kind in England. To do so they had to obtain a licence to use the techniques developed by Monsieur Hennebique."

The building is still standing (2016) but in a state of considerable disrepair.
