Description and History of Site:-
Derelict. Iron trackways supported on large cast-iron colums continue on girders marked John Abbot and Co. Ltd. Huge gables to road of retort sheds with semi-circular headed and circular openings dated 1884 and 1892. (Hatcher, 1974)
At present (2016) the smaller of the two gas holders shown on the 1911 OS map still standing. Originally operated by the 'British Gas Light Co.', the second Gas Company in Hull.
