Medforth's Mill (site of)

Description and History of Site:-
Demolished 1985. Corn milling last recorded in 1864, but was used for making artificial manure in 1868. Thought to have last been used in 1904. At the time of a survey (1967-8) by the East Yorkshire Local History Society it was described as a brick and tile building of four storeys and a loft. Two stones remained and it was thought that the wheel had been undershot. At the time the building was used as a workshop.
