Description and History of Site:-
Barn used by Leeds University farm. Last one remaining of three World War I aircraft hangars on RFC/RAF Home Defence Flight Station. Aerodrome constructed to protect Leeds from Zeppelin attack. B Flight of 33 Squadron stationed here. Later known as Tadcaster no 38 Training Depot Station, equipped with 36 Avro and SB5A planes.
