Ferrybridge Toll House

Description and History of Site:-
Coursed dressed sandstone, slate roof. Two storey bay facing the road, typical of toll houses as this provided a good view of passing traffic, with two single storey side wings. Tolls were collected at this tollhouse from traffic using the Ferry Bridge. The Doncaster and Tadcaster Turnpike Trust administered the road.
