Jumble or Cloughlee Mill

Description and History of Site:-
Mill owned (built?) by John Gartside and John Parkin from Marsden. Used by Lawrence Parkin for cotton spinning in the 1790s. After Lawrence Parkin the mill was leased by William Heywood who was bankrupt in 1805. Mill for sale in 1807 and had a water wheel and steam engine. The machinery consisted of ten mules for spinning cotton. The mill was for sale or let again in 1810. Still marked on the OS maps up until the 1950s. The chimney still stands and is listed grade II (1233728).
