Hollins Mill

Description and History of Site:-
"Steam powered, integrated cotton spinning and weaving mill built in 1856-8 beside Rochdale Canal. The four storey, eighteen bay mill and attached single storey weaving shed were powered by the engine house which was situated at the junction of the two buildings. There is a contemporary warehouse and mechanics shop and a further weaving shed and combined office and warehouse were added before 1890. There has been minor demolition of the site." (Giles & Goodall)

The main mill is currently in mixed commercial use with some parts converted to residential. The present (2019) use(s) of the very extensive single storey weaving shed is uncertain.
