Description and History of Site:-
A Mill complex on a Domesday site restored in 1976 as a working museum. Comprising (1) a 2-storey stone-built watermill dating in parts from the 17th century. Water from a leat diverted alongside the later Worsbrough Reservoir (qv) powered a cast iron overshot wheel to work 3 pairs of stones. (2) An 1843 3-storey building housing a steam engine and 2 pairs of stones. Later a 1911 oil engine replaced the steam engine. (3) A small mill dam. In 2015 a working museum as part of the Worsbrough Mill Country Park. Mill Cottage Listed grade II. List entry Number: 1192294
