Description and History of Site:-
It is a very large quarry, cut into the hillside, 150m x100m by c. 20m high at the rear. No infrastructure remains but the raised bed of a causeway enters the quarry from the south. There is the earthwork hollow of an 18th-century lime kiln within the quarry. Very little is known of this site other than its having been worked on a commercial basis by Henry Robinson at least from 1875 after he had given up the lease on Storrs Quarry at Ingleton (qv).
