East Marton Road Bridge

Description and History of Site:-
Unusual design of double arch road bridge where the arches are stacked above each other. At this point the canal is in a cutting and the road has been embanked to maintain an even grade. Double arch design was probably adopted to minimise thrust on the bridge arches from the embankment fill.
