Foss Tilting Weir Sluice

Description and History of Site:-
Tilting weir sluice, allowing adjustment of the water level and flow in the river Foss. Part of the Foss/Ouse flood control measures. Built in 2014 to replace the earlier guillotine sluice gate at Castle Mills lock which could no longer be reliably controlled remotely.
