Plompton Mill

Description and History of Site:-
Three storeys stone and slab. Plain. Superb old huge timbers inside on the ground floor also old-looking window shaped for internal shutter with rebate all round. Wheel was exterior in main river, low-breast shot. Simple stone fireplace also in ground floor looks quite old. Top two storeys probably added, lower floor has coarse herringbone tooling, additional two storeys probably small-paned metal framed window. Alternated between corn grinding and flax spinning. Currently (2017) operating as bar and restaurant within a caravan and leisure park.
