Austerlands Mill

Description and History of Site:-
Steam-powered mill built in 1819 for cotton spinning. A 16 hp steam engine had been installed by 1834. The Mill chimney still stands just to the north across the A62 road.


Occupied by Benjamin & William Beaumont from 1819 and by 1834 William Beaumont & Co. At that time part of the mill was leased to another company, also for spinning cotton.
