Description and History of Site:-
Shown on the OS mapping of 1851, but probably of earlier origins. According to Gregory (1985), who includes an undated photograph, it was fitted with five sails of the roller type and was the second to last in East Yorkshire still operating by wind-power. Demolished in 1951, a derelict stump in 1973 and in 2006, but appears to have been rebuilt sometime between 2007 and 2012 as part of a residential conversion.
