History:-
Alf Cooke established his printing business in 1866 and expanded into colour printing in 1868, producing cheap prints of art works for the mass market. The original works burnt down in 1880 and its replacement was partly destroyed in 1894. The present building is from 1895, architect Thomas Ambler. Printing continued here until about 1981 when it became Bemrose Cartons, a packaging operation. Closed in 2005.rnrn
