Description and History of Site:-
Clifton Mill was on Gill Beck on the uphill side of the Bradford to Otley Road at the bottom of Hollings Hill.
In 1842 it had both a water wheel and steam engine for power. Possibly built about 1790 for cotton spinning later worsted
In 1842 the mill was to let when it was owned by Francis Billam of Newall Hall, Otley and had been run by William Trees.
