Semerwater or Little Ings Bridge

Description and History of Site:-
Bridge carrying road over River Bain as it empties from Semerwater. Three arches segmental one much larger than the others. Arch construction consists of long narrow voussoirs forming main part of arch under hood of long narrow slightly projecting stones very similar detail to the arches at Bainbridge Mill.





Bridge. Late C17 - early C18. Rubble. 3 segmental arches of rubble
voussoirs with slab hoodmoulds, divided by triangular cutwaters which
continue up as pedestrian retreats at parapet level. Crudely-shaped slab
coping to parapet.
