Salterhebble Aqueduct

Caption :- Calder and Hebble Navigation. Wooden trough aqueduct, originally constructed in 1815/6 to connect the Salterhebble locks via Long Lee Cut down to the present Woodside Lock, where the Elland Upper cut formerly re-entered the River Calder above Long Lee weir. Owing to high maintenance costs, a concrete structure was instead employed when this wooden aqueduct was replaced in 1986. Photo. April 1986.
