West Beck delphs

Caption :- Lime kiln at Askwith

A probable early 18th-century lime kiln that converted stone from local boulder pits into lime. It is only 2.85m high and was crudely built of uncoursed sandstone rubble. Unusually, the draw arch has a timber lintel. It has a loading ramp to the bowl from the rear.
