Worsbrough Reservoir

Description and History of Site:-
Worsbrough basin (opened 1804) was the summit and terminus of the Worsbrough branch of the Dearne & Dove Canal and was fed with water by a large reservoir created by one of the most ambitious dams to be constructed at that early date. The dam is still extant including original stonework though with modern concrete water management in evidence. In 2015 the reservoir forms part of Worsbrough Mill (qv) Country Park.
