Ramsdale Mill

Description and History of Site:-
Stone and slate. Three storeys (two above road). Extremely remote down a track through a long wood. Small sash windows. Mill pond and dam still extant, water course not obvious. Tooled stones at side. Kneelers. Rebuilt in 1858 after flood. Converted to a dwelling, the original waterwheel and machinery are gone but have been rebuilt using modern materials by a later owner.
Used in J. Arthur Rank's first feature film, "Turn of the Tide" in 1935, when the disused wheel was made to turn again for the filming.
